Spirit of Bermuda is currently (at 2 pm Tuesday) lying second (tied) in the race to Charleston, with only the D Class yacht Fazisi (USA) ahead of her. D Class yachts are large modern ocean racers and it is difficult for a traditional design like Spirit to compete with these.
Spirit is neck and neck with Peter Van Danzig (also a D Class yacht).
In Class A (the big square riggers) Capitan Miranda (Uruguay) is leading on the water with Europa (Holland) first on corrected time.
