Anticlimactic day after yesterday's excitement.
We've been bobbing along at 2 knots in an unfavorable direction for most of the morning, gybing on the shifts and slowly getting closer to the next mark. Had an all-hands training session for abandoning ship, with crew and trainees demonstrating hand flares, parachute flares, smoke canisters, and other pieces of equipment found in our life rafts. We all snacked on the emergency rations, dense nutritious bricks in waterproof packets. We had our annual survey of all our rafts and harnesses in Savannah and these were the expired items that were replaced.
Our inner Jib sustained some damage yesterday during the first squall and we spent much of the morning patching it up and hanking it back on. Good to have it back - we need all the canvas we can spread.
Best to all
Simon
