Chairman of the Bermuda Sloop Foundation Alan Burland received a cheque for $65,000 from Cable & Wireless Vice President for Corporate Communications Charmaine Burgess. They are joined by BSF Executive Director Malcolm Kirkland, Cable & Wireless Intern Rockal Evans, Mario Swainson and Rajae Woods, Cedarbridge Academy S4 students, Bermuda College student Rodrico Bean, Spice Valley Middle School M1 Waterwise students Aisha Jones, Brian Bulhoes and Kazim Muhammad, Spice Valley MS Waterwise Grads.
Cable & Wireless previously sponsored the construction of an actual size mock-up of the Navigation/Electronics cabin for the Cedarbridge Science & Technology Fair which was of such a standard that it was an exhibit at the Career's Fair at Bermuda College. The Navigation Cabin aboard 'Spirit of Bermuda' is custom designed for teaching navigation/telecommunication and computer network servicing.
