Spirit of Bermuda watch leaders of tomorrow
By Ruth O'Kelly-Lynch
Thirty-three new aspiring watch leaders (some pictured here) are now training as Approved Watch Leaders aboard the Spirit of Bermuda Tall Ship.
The tall ship — launched in 2006 by Bermuda Sloop Foundation to teach young Bermudians about teamwork — was named Sail Training Programme of the Year by the American Sail Training Foundation last year.
"It is a measure of success that our existing watch leaders move on and into the pathways of their lives," said Malcolm Kirkland, executive director of the Spirit programme.
"This type of personal leadership and community service action puts them in excellent stead as they take on the challenges of the world."
